Haha brilliant
I havent been here five minutes and have entered this comp many times and with some beautiful rockys but the sad fact is that its a waste of time
As for badly photographed well yes a Nikon D80 in the hand is all I can muster, No hiring a studio for me
The ibis is nice but a diamond back axis photographed the same way woul look equally nice

The reason I wouldnt look once at your bikes is your attitude - it stinks. Why denegrate others for making an effort in presentation, why belittle others bikes for having parts you don't know or understand because your knowledge of vintage bikes is limited.

Take a look at the BOTY, only three bikes with vaguely 'professional' photo shoots, most probably done in someones shop or garage for free. My photo was taken with a happy snap camera in my garden, yet somehow it looks OK and got me enough votes to win. I certainly don't have anything as fancy as a Nikon, so maybe it should be me crying foul about you having a technological advantage?

Then look at the brands - Roberts, Ritchey, Yeti, Kona, Orange, Merlin, Mongoose, Fat Chance. Not one of them rare in the UK, not one in a different league to a Rocky Mountain. Then there's a WTB and a Koski, rarer in the UK but very well known and respected by people with a passion for MTB in the UK back in the 80s/90s. So the only 'unusual' brand would be the Gleiss, a stunning and worthy winner.

People either vote for what they like or who they like, and if they don't vote for yours then the reason is obvious.

My attitude does not stink it is merely mine
Yours is different which I respect
Your tone is agressive however which I like perhaps you
Can introduce yourself I would love to meet you.
My knowledge is based upon being involved in the scene and if it offends you thats your problem not mine
My post was meant to have a little self deprecation and a hint of irony if you missed it then maybe you are not English ?

Re: Retrobike BoTM Feb 14 'Special Edition' Special Nominati

With your grammar, punctuation and spelling I can only assume the last part of your post is also ironic, yes?

Re: Retrobike BoTM Feb 14 'Special Edition' Special Nominati

I dont think we should bring my Grandma into this old sport

I cant see much wrong with it but hey ho its been a busy day wafting around the country in the Beemer spending all my time designing beautiful things for beautiful people so my note was made on the hop so to speak.
If my lack of Grammar and punctuation is that bad then thank the heavens I have a very lovely PA to do all that nonsense for me.
I can see that there have been some thoughtful and intellegent responses with the exception of yours petemcc and I fully intend to read them and respond later once I have a suitable Claret in hand whilst waiting on a Chateaubriand or something suitably bloody from the Hotel Restaurant menu.
Is the MCC a cricket reference old chap as my Grandfather was a member of the MCC ?

Sorry folks naghty pete the keyboard warrior has had me responding to him in the wrong forum section
I did not realise he was so desperate for an audience
Can a mod please move these comments over thanks as I hate it as much as the next guy when the thread gets hijacked by a disagreement

Throwing an interesting one into the mix.

The Pro's Closet's Kamikaze Edition Rubicon Comp Kestrel

Built and raced by former pro Kurt Stockton for the infamous Mammoth Mountain Kamikaze Downhill race where Kurt was clocked at terrifying 60+ miles per hour.
