Retro tyres that actually work

After much ribbing about my Wildslippers and some pretty sketchey riding Sunday was just thinking which tyres actually work? I have a incredible fetish for coloured tyres too!!

Or modern tyres that you can get away with

I still dont find the slippers "that" bad but I guess its a case of until you try something better your none the wiser

Think most tyres would slip when riding on wet roots, I know mine were (a little un-nerving at times !) :shock:

Coloured tyres are much worse than black treaded tyres in the wet. Time to address your colour fetish and man up. It's all to do with carbon black which colours the tread.

Had my first ride yesterday on a pair of Spec Team Master/Control and found the front end so unpredictable I am probably going to sell them straight on

IRC Mythos 1.95's are fantastic imho.

I had a pair of 1.7 (?, or 1.5) Team Control/Master that I was always scared to ride ... a bit lary on anything except mud.
