Retro non QR options?

They are all much the same as the old early 90s TranzX-alike-type-name.
Even the old hole in the Allen key etc.

I just use them if I need too.

Yep. They were the first i found with google, other brands are available but try and atick with allen key type rather than the pin ones. Trans x were the ones i had originally back in the late 90s.

Years ago I bought a set of these:

They're now out of stock, but you might be able to find something similar.

They use a security allen key. Admittedly it's not exactly hard to get hold of a security bit set, but it's still slightly better than a regular allen key.

I've used the Kryptonite security Qrs before they now adorn my brothers commuter, they're not retro but simple in design so don't look out of place.

Do they need to be fancy?
I've got some plain looking (think the old silver Shimano) skewers that lock with a Torx key.
Came on a retro mtb I got the other year.

Definitely interested, don't want anything fancy, just authentic and period correct to late 80's early 90's if possible.

Pitlock was founded in 1994, so they're arguably producing a retro product (assuming the basic design hasn't changed much since then).
