Restoring to admire not ride.

Why do some of you have issues with well restored bikes that are not ridden (Garage Queens)?

On a forum this size, at any one time there will always be a number of people who have issues about any particular topic, sometimes logical, sometimes not.

From what you say it appears that you have plenty of bikes that you enjoy riding and one or more that you just appreciate without needing to ride. No problem!! There's no law that says every bike you own has to be ridden. Just keep doing what you enjoy.

Art is when you ride this old metals but still retain them as far as possible in beautiful condition ...maybe for next or even for your own eyes :)

i have no issues with garage queens tbh, but only for uber rare period correct builds. riding them every now n then wont harm them but appreciate the time and searching that goes into some.

for me my pace, although not exceptional in any standard will only get ridden on nice warm dry days, not a queen, but my unicorn

sounds cheesy eh lol :D

Not cheesy, sounds Perfect.

It seems to me that the whole point of Mountain bikes is to have FUN riding them. Much as I love tinkering, upgrading and just looking at them I never could resist riding them.
TBH collecting GQs would be as boring as collecting stamps or coins to me 'cause you can't use them either. :?
There I've said / written it.

I think GQ's are the ultimate BSO's.

What makes the differance between a load of metal put together so its a BSO and a proper bike - the bike gets ridden. No matter what the BSO costs.

But all good - whatever floats your boat I guess :)
