R.I.P Bryncrug AKA Martin Evans

Awful news........rest in peace old chap.........

I had lots of dealings with martin, both in public and private on the site........it will be a lesser place without him.

Re:

Very sad news always had a helpful word of encouragement or advice. Real shame and I'm not afraid to say that POTM made me cry.

RIP mate.

Re:

I'm not on here anymore, but do browse from time to time. Devastating news for both the site, the RBiker's he struck up friendships with, but more importantly the family left behind
Although only speaking to Martin via PM''s I was both flattered and amazed at the help he was undertaking on my behalf, even though he didn't know me from Adam. He was so excited and determined to not only get his own project finished using ingenuity, hard work and patience, but also offering his time and these qualities to assist others to complete their projects. Such sad sad news. My sincerest condolences to all Martins family.

For anyone wishing to attend and who is not on Facebook I have these details Lucy recently posted.

Martin's funeral will be Friday 23rd May 11.45 at Redditch Crematorium. Further details will be posted closer to the time."

oh my.

a lovely chap.

Charlie, just a thought, but when appropriate, I hope his wife and lad get to know about this thread and of the esteem in which he was held.

Some of us might attend the funeral with a retrobike tribute.....

Re:

Words escape me, he seemed a really nice chap in the exchanges I had with him. Goes without saying that my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Dear All,

Firstly, you words of support have been passed on to Lucy (Martin's wife) & my family, who have been overwhelmed by the kindness from all who know Martin (in some shape or form).

The funeral will be held at REDDITCH CREMATORIUM
BORDESLEY LANE,
REDDITCH,
WORCESTERSHIRE
B97 6RR

1145am

The Celebration of Life (Wake) will take place afterwards in Bromsgrove (further details to follow).

As for the Overbury, David (Martin's friend & another bike fanatic) is taking on the task to complete the bike for the service. therefore I will link him into this forum on Monday. I believe Martin had all the parts. On the last day of Martin's life he was very happy and one of the reasons for this was that the wheels for the Overbury were completed, which I'm sure you all played a part in advice & chat, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Finally, does anyone know anything about the book/file (collection of old Mountain Bike Magazines) that he collected in past weeks? I will hold on to it but if you have any information, please let me know.

Cheers

Gareth
