I use a blk pvc cut in half the long way and it clamps right on the bottom portion(underside) of the down tube. I may get ragged on but I don't give a rip as it gives me piece of mind as I hate small dents anywhere on the bike. I stuck some felt lining on the inside as to minimize scratching the frame too
