Paris Olympics

Some Prevot Pidcock wheel tech

So it's a straight pull Tioga Disc Drive then... how far technology has come :)

I'm all for advancing tech, but that has to be quite limiting if it gets damaged in a race?

I'm loving the olympics. The ability to get absolutely lost in a sport you've never even heard of, and within 10 minutes profess to being an absolute expert to your other half. Looking forward to the BMX, and also the breaking.

BMX freestyle finals tomorrow. We didnt watch the qualifying today so dont know what the layout is like. The tricks they do are mind boggling and you need some guts to pull them off.

Missed the gymnastics team finals. I am hoping to see some bonkers stuff from Biles again. Heard she was limping the other day though!?

Am gagging for the track cycling now.
Looking forward to this. They’ve come a long way since sitting on the cross bar of your handlebars and peddling backwards was considered freestyle 😂

Triathlon went ahead with GB's Alex Yee taking gold with a masterful tactical run. The cycling bit was interesting but it's really the run that decides things, isn't it?

(Now let's see if anyone gets sick from swimming in the Seine)

and a bronze in the womens for Potter, so a good all round in cycling for the UK, which is great.

Road this weekend, then the track starts.

Not sure where you get the disc drive idea from. The wheels they used are spoked just like regular wheels but the spokes are floppy things instead of stainless/carbon and the rims are kinda wavy on the inside edge instead of, well, like normal.

I really hope that they didn't fudge the testing for it to go ahead. I am pretty sure that last night everyone was getting upset that it might be a duathlon and the event would favour those specialists. Hopefully there has been independant testing as the IOC are corrupt and the government need to save face.

They just swap out the wheels, so there is no question of a rolling 'repair'. Quite fancy trying string spokes.

Apparently the Australian triathletes are taking antibiotics as a preventative measure . . .
