Orange P7 Project

Well to be fair, this has turned out way beyond where I thought it would have on Saturday.

Final head tube decal arrived today (courtesy of dnfive.co.uk) so on went the top coat.

Three light layers to start with followed by two top heavy layers.

Hardest thing is waiting 5 days now to harden.

Made a start on the build yesterday.

Bike has been in the airing cupboard for 3 days for the top coat to harden and I just couldn't wait any longer.

Gone for the Fox 32 Talas, some wide race Face bars and a Kore short stem.

Rest of the build will be a 1x initially with Shimano XT, some Hope Pro 2 hubs on Mavic rims and Juicy Carbon brakes.

Watch this space....

Well here we go, built and dialled in.

Took it out for a spin down the road earlier and just needs a little tweaking but really happy with it.

Think I'm going to go 1x10 at some stage if I don't get on with the 9 speed. I'll try it out first and see how it is climbing.

Nice.

You could just get a wide range 9spd cassette off aliexpress

I run 11-40 8spd on one of my bikes with m750 mech and 8spd shifter, with no other mods works great

Now the awful weather has finally passed I managed to get out on her finally today, albeit with the family on their bikes and the dog.

Still felt really nice, the 1x is taking some getting used to and had to remove the cassette and freehub when I got back as seemed a bit sticky, all good now though.

Hopefully get on some trails this weekend now.

Picked this bottom bracket up from one of the members on here this week (cheers Scant).

Had to take an unscheduled tea break when I got home from work earlier to fit it but well worth it.

There was nothing wrong with the Shimano one I had on there but when I saw this it matched the theme I'm going for with the P7.

Feels super smooth and replaceable bearings mean it'll last forever!!
