Now, isn't retrobike a real community?

Excellent - 37 - I was 37 once  ........and yep we probably are a bunch of loonies too

I've been on this forum for approx 3 months and despite my desire to "be frugal" - have spend a fooooookin mint on bits of old bicycle.

Brilliant innit

Must say that this is the friendliest internet forum I have come across and echo the trustworthy sentiments too

Maybe that's why when you get the odd scamming rascal it affects everyone so much

Just reached my half century, so one of the more senior members I reckon

I'm 37 as well! Is it mid-life boredom that drives us here?

I think I might be regressing though...I started with brand new bikes 6 years ago and slowly I've bought older and older bikes. I'm in 1990 at the moment but after seeing that CTC video someone posted from You Tube I'm starting to feel the urge to move to the 1950's and go touring.

What's nice about this site is that it does feel a bit like the 2009 version of that 1950's touring film...maybe we should all wear tweed for the Pines ride?

just turned 2009-1961 ( very good claret year ;) )

so that make me also probably in the oldish segment

I think the best atributes of Retrobike are first, that the bikes appreciated here are meant to be ridden ON the trail, ducking and weaving to find the fastest smoothest line; rather than flown via super plush suspension, OVER the trail, smoothing and erasing the very thing that makes technical trail riding great.

Second, the community feeling and positive vibe can't be understated...American boards are so much heavy with the cowby shoot first ask questions later attitude that they are difficult to read and participate in. I can talk crap with the best of them, but honestly, I don't like the way I feel when I leave some of those boards.

Where American boards are like screaming bike stuff at each other in a death match octagon, Retrobike is like sitting in the coffee shop on the corner, bantering about where Syncros went wrong. I dig it.

I'll probably never get to meet most of you guys, but more than any other board, I feel like we're all Pals.   **hug**

oh yeah...I'm 38.

Nicely put Utahdog and you never know when the Pound hits 50cents you'll be able to fly over club class

Wonderful site and wonderful members...long may it stay that way!!!

Pushing 33, loosing hair and still pulling 360's on my bmx in the street with my kids.

This site has me hooked, raced in 91,92 & 93 then found girls and booze. For some reason i found this site actually trying to find info on my alipinestars I had BITD, just waiting to start that retro build, can't wait. just need to find some money now. BTW still love to ride and live next to the cleveland hills so have no choice but to get into the forest and get mucky!!!
