Finally,,an update i kinda was looking forward to do,,cause the search, and the wait for these parts have been a long one
When my Wolfie ,aka my GT Lobo was stolen, asome parts were missing when I got it back (after almost two years away i the thiefs hands).
And the one part missing, was the upper guide,on the AC chainguide.
I soon found out it was going to be a difficult one,to source a " replacement part".Bummer
So 3...4 weeks ago,,I was looking around on ebay, as usual. And i came across athis other part that I always been a fan of,and at this point in time looking for, because of the potential problem of not beeing able to source an AC one.So..what did i find?Yes..you got it.A proper old school MRP chaindevice. And the best thing, was what it is brand new,in box ,with complete instructions
The bad thing, was that it was an auction, so the waiting time for the bid session to end, and the bid session itself ,was almost to much.
So...Before the bidding ended,i got to message the guy abit, and we shared stories, and he told me he was actually initially going to use the MRP guide,on his LOBO
And .. check this out,Behold
>>he had an AC upper chainguide laying around.(Cheeering)Not the correct one though, but still, it is possible to modify stuff afterall
Soo....long story short.I got both of the chainguides that i needed and wanted
So no my luxury dilemma is,,,,which one to fit to my Lobo ? Whichever part is mounted, its not the be all end all kinda issue, but still...its fun to have the luxury debate about,,,which one to fit
Something is telling me to go with the MRP one,as it is brand new,,and it just screams 90"s downhill
The AC one needs to be modified abit to fit..but it will look as it was intended in a way ,and how it was when i built my bike back in 1998
Eitherway, I am superstoked to have these parts so i definetly had to shoot some photos of this special Event
I hope you like the pictures people ,sorry for the lenghty post once again
