Norwegian GT LOBO STS "

Thanx for pics :)
You have a gem there, mister. And yes..Kore and GT definetly go hand in hand. And i would love to have some KORE parts for my bike aswell. But remember,,my bike was not bought as a complete new bike.It was supplied to me as a frame kit..when my old STS DH frame ,bought from a GT factory rider......when the frame broke.So..my bike is more a culmination of that fact alone that it was put together of the components from that STS DH frame..and when now rebuilding it..i want to get some small parts that i initially put on the bike when i built it...that again, it no longer had when i recovered it,after it was stolen,,And combine that with putting on parts i remember seeing around that time,,and lusting after ;)

So...the difficulties of choosing what to do,,when you have the wrong parts...and missing some parts 🙄🤪
I am missing the top part of my AC chainguide....though I might have found a top guide....
Also,,,I have got a good condition MRP chainguide,,,but it is a 4 arm version...though I might have a solution for that aswell...so...what to....
Also...as you can see,i scooped up a new Raceface chain ring for the Raceface crank 😀 20221030_121140.jpg
A mood picture,of Wolfie,,sitting there 😀

Hello once again people 🤩
Here is another Wolfie update,, my 1998 GT Lobo Sts 🐺🐺
The restoration goes very well, and I have sourced some very important parts to me,and to this build.🥳
When my bike was stolen in 2001(recovered i 2003), some parts were taken off the bike, such as the lovely Tioga Dh saddle I had put on the bike, and some lovely ODI Rogue grips in red and black.
Both of these two items are very important to me,as they kinda made " a mark" on the bike, and just made it mine in a way.
So,,like usual,i have been hunting like a wolf,,,and Ebay has been kind to me once again 😁
A brand spankin new Tioga Dh Saddle was found Down undaaaaaa,Australia 🤩😀This particular one is dated January 1996,,so very cool to find one, New In Box.FunFact:The EbaySeller has one more in stock, as far as I know ,so grab a bargain 😀
The other super find, was a pair of the excact same type of grips i had,,Odi Rogue,in red grip, and black ends.
Barely used,so after a cleaning session ,they came out almost flawless 🤩
ALSO,finally,,a almost brand new Shimano Xt 8 speed casette. This might not be that special, but after seeing the prices on used ones for sale,,,,,Knowing what I paid for this Barely "used for one day then taken off the bike" ,casette,Is a friggin bargain 😍😍
Eitherway,,some pics for you.I used heavy hand cleaner to clean the grips as you can see in the pics, and then treated the grips with rubber gel afterwards to prevent them from drying up .
Sorry for long winded post, but It had to be done 😀 20221108_170344.jpg 20221108_163103.jpg 20221108_163206.jpg 20221108_163230.jpg 20221108_163301.jpg 20221108_163338.jpg 20221108_164027.jpg 20221108_163903.jpg 20221108_163833.jpg 20221108_163808.jpg

Hey people
A little something special arrived today 🤩
My first proper entry into Mountainbiking, was with a Kona AA,back in 1995.
I always regretted selling that bike,,BUT today,,,I got one back 🤩A 1995 Kona AA , 18 inch frame ,same size as my old one aswell 😍
Bought from the UK,,in ridiculously good condition. Some chips here and there, and missing some original parts ,like the brakes, and seat, ...but all in all an absolute bargain ..and also quite A rare bike ,,,you usually see the cinder cones and the Kula and Kilaueas...but rarely any AA"s around,.So im quite happy getting this bike,to add to my suddenly growing bike collection.Which was not really My intention when starting the restoration of my GT Lobo,,,,so I guess im hooked
Eitherway, i hope you like the pics, and the bike

Finally,,an update i kinda was looking forward to do,,cause the search, and the wait for these parts have been a long one 🤩
When my Wolfie ,aka my GT Lobo was stolen, asome parts were missing when I got it back (after almost two years away i the thiefs hands).
And the one part missing, was the upper guide,on the AC chainguide.
I soon found out it was going to be a difficult one,to source a " replacement part".Bummer ;)
So 3...4 weeks ago,,I was looking around on ebay, as usual. And i came across athis other part that I always been a fan of,and at this point in time looking for, because of the potential problem of not beeing able to source an AC one.So..what did i find?Yes..you got it.A proper old school MRP chaindevice. And the best thing, was what it is brand new,in box ,with complete instructions😍
The bad thing, was that it was an auction, so the waiting time for the bid session to end, and the bid session itself ,was almost to much.
So...Before the bidding ended,i got to message the guy abit, and we shared stories, and he told me he was actually initially going to use the MRP guide,on his LOBO 😀And .. check this out,Behold 🤩 >>he had an AC upper chainguide laying around.(Cheeering)Not the correct one though, but still, it is possible to modify stuff afterall
Soo....long story short.I got both of the chainguides that i needed and wanted 🤩😍😍😍😍😍
So no my luxury dilemma is,,,,which one to fit to my Lobo ? Whichever part is mounted, its not the be all end all kinda issue, but still...its fun to have the luxury debate about,,,which one to fit 😀
Something is telling me to go with the MRP one,as it is brand new,,and it just screams 90"s downhill
The AC one needs to be modified abit to fit..but it will look as it was intended in a way ,and how it was when i built my bike back in 1998☺️
Eitherway, I am superstoked to have these parts so i definetly had to shoot some photos of this special Event 😃
I hope you like the pictures people ,sorry for the lenghty post once again
Greetings from Norway, Stefan
