Norwegian GT LOBO STS "

Love MRP's but I think the AC suits it better.
I am of the same opinion i have to say :) I thought i would like the MRP better for the frame...but im glad i sorted myself out with the top guide i was missing for the AC one..as when i see the two setups now..i think i will go for the AC setup.Though it wont hurt trying both ;) Thanx for commenting by the way :)

Hey people
πŸ˜€

I just wanted to show you my recent purchase :)
With that said...i should maybe start a new thread on the pre 1998 stuff..as i am working on bikes from before and after 1998 ;)
One of my favourite long travel suspension forks ever to be made.,,and yes it was a DH fork
πŸ˜ƒ
πŸ˜‰

I remember so well when these came out,and I was gutted to never beeing able to get one.
They were rumoured to be smooth like a knife through butter,,like a katana sword through velvet,,,and yes they were indeed plush and smooth.
So here...26 years later,i finally got one
😍
A 1996! Marzocchi Bomber Z1 ,and it is 99 percent mint condition
πŸ™‚
Super happy to see that the restoration of it is gonna be an easy one
πŸ™‚

This has to be an early one also,as the stampings show 1996 all over, which is friggin awesome.
Im not sure which bike im gonna put it on though, as i have a 1995 Kona AA,and a 1996 Kona SexThree,,,so i guess we will see :)
Eitherway, I hope you like the pics.
Also some Rob Warner Kaprun 1996 action pic;)

It's a 1997 fork. They were produced in 1996 (hence the stamp) but not available to mere mortals until '97. Some racers got early forks in 1996 but they had silver stanchions

Finally
A little update on some parts I've always wanted for my GT Lobo....
A red Chris King headset 😍😍😍
I did go against normal procedure,,,and I bought A used headset 😜
These days i couldnt justify spending the amount a brand new one cost,so I kept my eye open for a good used one.And this one popped up.It is barely used.It was removed properly,so no exessive dings and scratches from it beein removed .And the bearings are butter smooth 🀩
So overall,,quite a bargain.1/3rd of the price of a new one.
Also,,i found a lovely, pretty rare to see red Azonic Double Wall 2.5 inch raiser bar ,in decent condition, and super cheap.Dont know if it goes on the Lobo,,,but I will see.I do have some other bikes that it will suit aswell.
Eitherway,,I hope you like the pics
Take care people,take it easy.And enjoy these holiday days,as best as you can πŸ™‚ 20221223_181515.jpg 20221224_110359.jpg 20221224_115124.jpg 20221224_115053.jpg 20221224_151956.jpg 20221224_151901.jpg 20221224_152227.jpg

Very very nice job and perfect parts matching !
I also have a STS LOBO frame in my showroom but I am not sure to have time and patience to seek each parts to build it so perfectly ! πŸ˜…
Maybe I should sell it πŸ˜„

Hello there.Thank you so much for commenting and kind words. I think you should make something out of your Lobo. But if you are not " feeling it"...either sell it..or just wait :)

Well....it is not selfexplanatory what to go for when it comes to cranks n chainguides.Luckily it is a " 1st world problem"...and it can be switched around easily .But its kinda " fun" debating back and forth.
I never did intend on replacing my Raceface cranks..cause they are the ones original to the bike..because of this bike beeing a frame kit built up..using the parts i had on my previous STS Dh.
And i do not want to change the look of the bike far from what it was in 1998....but rather keep most of the parts..and the look it had back then..
