Next Year's (now This Year's) Classic Rides

Well I've filled the form in and sent it off. Depressing moment halfway through as its the first time I've had to put 40 as my age on something official. :D Wish they had a 30ish mile route as 13 isn't enough and 53 is probably too much. If I get a place doing my usual weekly mileage in one ride rather than spread across 3 or 4 should be ok and will give some kind of purpose to my riding for the next few weeks. Don't know whether I'll get the 10mins head start as although I'll be on a 1990 bike its got a modern groupset.

There are a few places left, so now my only hope is that the postie loses the applicaton form. If anyone else is aiming for a 7hr 59min time they're welcome to ride with me, by which of course I mean ride just in front of me so I can ride in their slipstream.

Looks like there should be a good RB turnout, I just hope the weather is kind to us.

Who's going to be at the front of the lead-out train to the finish?

The tallest/widest one hopefully! I bags second wheel.

Thanks for the encouraging words Mr K - hope you make it after the delights of Flanders.

Mark.

I've just been searching ebay for smaller chainrings / lawnmower engines / rocket packs in a state of slight panic to give me a bit of a boost up the hills

Has anyone had anything back saying their application for a place on the Pendle Witches ride was successful?

I didn't get anything specific when I put my name into the hat but when I sent an email querying I got a very prompt reply from the chap doing the orgainsing. I think I used the "Contact us" bit on the website, although if you look on there the Riders list has been updated recently (which it wasn't when I first looked).
