Good that they've got the ball rolling. I don't envy them or anyone trying to organise a full-scale event like this.
We'll all need to pay more which is fine. Personally I hope they don't charge for parking because that's the only way to get there, but premiums for track-side plots or proximity to the start/finish line make sense. They can drop the demo bikes, prizes and barista stuff unless they can secure that at a better rate.
I wonder if there's any scope for them to partner with other national-wide MTB events. Everyone is in the same boat and the more cooperation and sharing of costs, the better (no easier of course).
