Good that they've got the ball rolling. I don't envy them or anyone trying to organise a full-scale event like this.

We'll all need to pay more which is fine. Personally I hope they don't charge for parking because that's the only way to get there, but premiums for track-side plots or proximity to the start/finish line make sense. They can drop the demo bikes, prizes and barista stuff unless they can secure that at a better rate.

I wonder if there's any scope for them to partner with other national-wide MTB events. Everyone is in the same boat and the more cooperation and sharing of costs, the better (no easier of course).

I’m a bit confused why the food/drink caterer’s are even a concern. Surely they pay the event organisers for a pitch, not the other way around?

I think it reveals the challenges of landing on prices that are competitive to the caterer, and the cost liabilities presumably the event organiser has to cover.

I’ve been put off a fair few events of late when there asking £90 plus for entry to a race/event that’ll probably only take 4 hours max

Morning chaps, apologies bit late to the party (once again) So playing catch up with it all. I did Mini Mayhem in 2022 (The weedy 6hr event) which was good despite being a smaller than usual MM. And I'm chomping at the bit to do this years 2023. I appreciate you may have full teams but if not I'm happy to tag along to the party, ride solo, or make up numbers, whatever works out best. I will be there anyway with Mrs Jussa to provide morale support, and first aid cover if needed as well as suitable heckling from the sideline.

Nothing new just yet. The latest comments to the post asking for rider feedback are from others asking when bookings for riders will be open, or at least for an update but no, nothing yet.
