Mystery frame

Michum

Dirt Disciple
My friend just bought this bike, it would be nice to identify it. Frame is chromed under paint. Seatpost measures 27mm.
Frame weights about 2300g.
I've bought frameset with identical lugs and this triangle symbol and it was Minerva. To me it looks like a really nice, high quality frame. Any ideas?

It's that rear cable stop that seems pretty unique

And the window in the bb dt lug

plenty more, but not chrome chainstays....

The frame in the first post is not a Guylaine. They made never any chromed frames.
And the frame no. is different, it is YYNNN at Guylaine. The frame no. above starts with 73, which would mean 1973. The first Guylaine frames were built in 1986. (I made the Guylaine thread in that German forum)

The rear cable stop comes with the forward placement of the cantilever brake bosses. This was done on touring frames so as to have the brakes not interfere with the panniers.

My Vaneenooghe-built Snel has a similar setup:

It's the style of it i was commenting on. It's a squared off bit of (i guess) tube. as opposed to the formed bit of bar stock here

interesting. It's very similar in lots of ways, from the choice of lugs, dropouts, brakes, mounts etc. Did the builders a guylaine work anywhere else in the 70s?

Nope, the founders Lieke and Schefzyk were physicians at the Technical University Darmstadt. And they were too young, Schefzyk is still in his 60s afaik.
