Reefer Madness is hilarious! A gratuitous excuse just to show titillating, 'shocking' behaviour. :D

She should've retired to the Netherlands with their drug's policy...but it's probably too flat for a downhill biker!

These amounts are illegal even in the Netherlands
Personally I think all kind of drugs should be legal, just collect the taxes for some xtra heath care and get the criminals out of the scene..... but hey, I'm Dutch ;)
just for the record I've NEVER used (or will use) any drugs apart from Coffee, Tea and my occasional Beer/Whisky

chances are criminals would still find their niche in the scene with underage users, and offering cheaper stuff, undercutting legitimate sellers.

If it's domestically grown then there might be a moral argument for legalising it but what about imported stuff; there's some nasty bast'rds involved, not to mention the impoverished folk who are dependant and exploited along the way. Simply legalising it is immoral if only because it endorses the criminal practices beginning in the producer country. It's just out-of-sight,-out-of-mind selfishness, I reckon.
-Everyone who's into the idea ignores this, or assumes that it'll be 'home' grown and controlled, but that's bull -there'll always be 'imports'. I don't see much home produced hash for example.

I meant to legalize worldwide ;) only way to control things, just as other goods that are imported (childlabour, unhealthy work conditions etc. etc.) Nothing selfish about this as I don't do drugs  Just think people have their own responsabilities and nowadays laws are hypocryt allowing Alcohol (considered a hard drug by most experts) but forbidding weed  Social and economic problems caused by Alcohol are tens of times bigger than any other drug.

Sorry to hear about Missy. The possibility of jail, anyway.

There's a guy who was one of the first American pro racers to get a Euro contract back in the '70s, a guy I accompanied to the '85 Giro when he coached the first American team there. His job now is growing legal weed in NorCal, and no one could be more suited for it.

Just to keep the list short, I'll tell you who DIDN'T smoke.

Tom Ritchey
Joe Breeze

Everyone else is default mode.

One early '80s afternoon I was hanging around a three-room condo about 25 of us had rented in Crested Butte for the big bike week. Tom Ritchey wanders in, and the first thing that catches his eye is a beautiful piece of machine and brazing work on the kitchen table. Its function is a mystery to him though, so he picks it up to examine it, and realizes it's a bong.

He puts it down and backs away. "I don't know about these things..." (Meaning the bong.) And leaves. To everyone's relief anyway.

Sithlord will be gutted- he loves Tom Ritchey. And now he's outed as a square

I'm surprised no one has assumed she has done it for kicks. She obviously has a bit of thrill seeker in her and breaking the law in this way(if you perceive it on the naughty side of the scale) would have a certain amount of thrill seeking to it. Anyway its a possibility, I don't think it was because of destitution that she choose to do it.

Interesting, it is quite obvious that Doug Bradbury did drugs (I suspect he did heaver stuff also by the worn look of his face). Gary Fisher is also very obvious (is he gay BTW?, I am thinking of his strange "gay"-looking suits he wears at bike shows, never met him so I can not judge him outside of pics).

Do you know if Zap Espinoza did the hashis thing too? seemes like someone who is no stranger to trips. Then again Tinker Juarez comes to mind too but I would be very surprised if he did drugs (he was in the Volvo/Cannondale team also.. . hmmm).

Gary Klein? (does not look like a drug abuser but would be groundbreaking news if he had an itch for smoking back in the day).

It would be very interesting to know if JT touched anything cocaine or smoking stuff since he was a well payed racer and had connections with Doug Bradbury (he got special forks from him, maybe filled with DB's special leaves?).

"release the missile"

Read this elsewhere:

"Release the Missile"....

That was the only thing that made me smile while scanning along the whole mile of comments ere n' there...

mostly feel a bit "life move's pretty fast...if u don't stop an' look around once in awhile you might miss it".

What might Missy miss?...
What might we miss?

I won't "drop the dime" on anyone I know, and some of those characters are not in my immediate circle anyway.

Gary Fisher is not gay. He's somewhere on the other side of the spectrum.
