Re:

I never said Chinese do it. It's still being done by some craftsmen so why wouldn't they copy those brands that people pay more for than they costed new? You can buy a Campa Record Strada crankset for 15€ in Italy. With a Colnago panto on it, it's worth 20 times that price. Have a look at this:

Sorry if I've offended ... It was just a bit of childish (school boy humour)
Aimed at Kingbling, whose come back was funny.

Regards to all

Re:

I'm not offended. It just wanted to say there ARE fake panto parts being sold on ebay. I have (had) several panto parts and none of them, not even the NOS ones, had the coloured parts that bright. The colours mostly fade. This looks too fresh to me.

But ofcourse I can be wrong. And do like this project as I have a couple of Colnagos from the eighties and early nineties myself.

According WimVDD there's a geezer I China with dremell and a few pots of Humbrol paint called Wee Fake Em and his dyslexic brother Diem Fooked up who probably knocked out the cranks pictured above.

Love it but I think they are Italians Senior bodgeatelli and his son caniagetitrite

Nonsense.

Caniagetirite is his Geordie cousin.

It's all good fun guys and Wim is right the panto is fresh you can still feel the sharp edges I've got nothing against it being fake but is a pantograph really fake it was something that was probably out sourced during the heyday so having it done 28 years later is what it is, it's just a shame the signature is upside down but I can live with that.

Well 5 pages in and at least we have something to twitter about unlike some birds

Ah no wonder its upside down :D

I thought most pantographed stuff was done as aftermarket options on standard kit? Some might put that as "fake".

I look on it all as "the stuff I couldn't afford when I could actually ride a bike fast".

Well its back from the painters :D

I eventually decided to have the paint work repaired rather than repainting it this was intrusted to Neil Shankland at Atlantic Boulevard in Bury he's done a cracking job on it and it's now looking like new. It cost more than I was expecting and more than a full custom respray but the end results justifies the cost IMHO.

And this was what was hiding behind the original head Decal.
