Re: Macretro Fat Camp - 2013/2014
Just seen this thread and thought I would share my obesity story with you...
On holiday in February, I took my vintage Moser shirt and shorts and my daughter and I hired a bikes to do a little cycling (my first in 25 years). Came home and looked at the holiday snaps and though...'FAT BARSTEWARD better do something about it' Jumped on the scales and weighed in at 72.5Kgs (yes I know but I'm vertically challenged) and with blubber around the middle part I was beginning to look like Bibendum.
Dug out the old Peugeot bike and gave it the once over and managed to complete a full 2.8 mile loop before collapsing on the deck, kept this up for a couple of weeks before upping the mileage a little at a time, stopping smoking and then changing my diet cutting out all the junk food, ready meals, dairy products and going all healthy eating (if it tastes like rabbit food it is rabbit food) 7 months later with almost 2000 miles on the clock I have managed to get my weight down to a hefty 60.7Kgs have completed my first imperial century and struggle to find a shop that sells 30" waist trousers.
Me being a fat barsteward February 2013 at 72.5Kgs
Me September 2013 at 64Kgs
I don't find dieting easy, I hate rabbit food, I hate not having fish & chips/Indian curry/toasted cheese... when I want, I hate not having a bar of Galaxy Milk Chocolate to hand, but I do feel better for loosing the excess weight, my speed is no faster than before dieting but my endurance has improved, my strength has also increased. I still want to loose another couple of kilos, but I think for the time being I will cut the diet and enjoy some real food (within reason)
