Velo, you're not wrong but when you really let rip the trouble is you end up feeling crap about it too. So aye, really just as well shrugging your shoulders and letting them get on with it. Especially when you consider you could end up getting lamped for your trouble :?

This happens to me quite a lot  , letting rip and feeling crap that is, not getting lamped

Usually when driving though, was hanging out the window (in the HGV) shouting at a fugging tit in a van the other day.

Dont suffer from bike rage too often , maybe towards cars, did chase down some to55ers in a Peugeot who shouted at me as they drove past as i was cycling to work one night, sat behind him at the lights as he was turning left and i was going straight on, just when the lights changed i left a nice big green gob on his back window, was wishing i'd lifted up his wiper arm too

I did shout at a cyclist once when i was driving, he was cycling down Crow road in Glasgow, alternating between the kerb and the road , he got to a set of pedestrian lights which have a Gatso camera at them, he mounted the pavement, pressed the button and carried on cycling :x, so some motorist behind would see no one at the crossing, think they are ok to get through, lights change, flash, three points and a £60 fine, i caught up with him and asked him why he pressed the button when he did'nt intend crossing the road (in a rather hostile tone  ), he said "i'm crossing further down and it's to stop the traffic before i get there", i started to explain about the Gatso but by this point he looking at me as if i was a total loon

he said "i'm crossing further down and it's to stop the traffic before i get there"

Although it is totally wrong I can think of a few roads in dundee where that method would be a really good idea.

Had a few road rage moments on the bike when I used to cycle to work. I think the worst I ever got was when I was cut up at the lights just as they turned green by some eejit who was turning - while trying to simultaneously unclip and not fall off, I swung a foot at the back of the car. Luckily I missed, but I was absolutely raging. The driver just carried on completely oblivious.

Gazz - it's either housework or bike, so bike it is. Hope the rain eases up a bit, but not counting on it.

I have a none too imaginative idea for the Rockhopper's paint, having trouble finding the colour though - may need to try talking direct to a car paint place and see if they can do me a couple of cans.

ZZ, if your off out on the bike, where are you heading, i could do with testing out my Alpinestars new tyres, 26 x 2.4

Falcon is just being built, no plans :D

Velo - not heading out your way I'm afraid, I'm just heading up to Stirling, North Third to do a recce. Printing off map, etc. now.

Oh man, that was miserable. Didn't make it very far into the woods, will go back earlier in the day when weather is better, park much nearer and do a full scout.

Cycled through an abandoned quarry on the way that had some home made jumps, table tops and all that freeride stuff, looked a bit scary, but the locals have obviously put a lot of effort into building the stuff. Also looks like there are a fair few trails leading off into the woods around the quarry too. Bottom line is I think there is some good riding to be had here :)

So Velo - what tyres did you get for the Alpinestars?

i never had a chance to take pictures of my karma bits today as i was at the cinema with the kids :D but i have got them all together so will take some tomorow night

Due to Thrunton I thought I need fat gnarly tyres and so measured the clearance I had in both tha Alpinestars and the Trek.
Promptly forgot how much clearance I had and thus when in Halfrauds I guessed and bought some Continental mountain Kings 2.4" or 60mm wide as they were going cheapish at £16 each.

They were too tight for the Trek, rats

They fit easily into the Alpinestars :D :D :D, I could have got 2.5's in easily but 2.4's are great and thus this bike is most definitely my trail centre and extreme terrain bike.

I think we should promote Sterling as a near future meet ie this month to tide us over and get some practice in before NWA.

Hateful weather has kept me in today as soaked just going to the shops :(
