That seatpost is a shocker  , i'd definetely try for a claim there.

Just got my mits on this tonight, the cruiser/klunker project :)

Looks a bit cheap and nasty at the moment but stickers will be going as will the brake bosses, cable stops and rear bridge, will scotchbrite pad it for now (to dull it down a bit) but will eventually be painting it (blue and cream)

Have a set of battered Tange big forks to go on it, needing a 27.2 seatpost, a pair of frog leg canti's and idealy a single four finger brake lever, will be running it as a single speed with huge bars and a coaster brake.

Going to need a Brooks seat too, that'll probably be the most expensive bit on the bike

Other news

Found some wear in the bottom pivot on the Stumpie FSR so sent the stays off to BETD for repair, just bought a set of 80mm Marzocchi's for it too.

Not got any propper riding in since Thrunton/Dalby though

All sounds good Mark. 8) Will you spray it yourself?

Hummed and haa'd about he stumpy again, but theres enough money hanging off it to finish most of my other builds and make a start on the kona. And I guess thats what it comes down to at the end of the day.

Ah, Right  , that's nice, exact same frame, mine will be more a ratty bomber/hotrod style than custom cruiser though, will definetely be painted, got enough shiny frames already

Hey Mark, if your interested I've got an original 1950's Brooks B Seventysomething sprung brown leather saddle. Needs those old style twin rail seatpost clamps though but I also have a 27.2mm old style alloy post that such clamps are mounted to and I know where to get the clamp for pennies. Heavey though but well comfy :D

Also anyone up for say a few laps of Pollock on Sunday, fancy a little undemanding SS but also fancy Drumlanrig maybe as an alternative for Sunday. Though based on response so far its off to Glentress with Dave again, never thought I'd get bored of the Tress

Saturday I intend to rifle the bike recyclers for a better fork for the Trek so I can then do a test ride on Sunday :D

Cheers, Velo
