Keilder is a Yes, they've got a downhill boardwalk thats got to be tried or in my case chickened out of

Gazz, I'm all for a shonk meet but must point out a shonky bike is not just a battered old mtb you have not polished but works perfectly well as an mtb. A shonky bike or clunker is something that is not an mtb that has been converted for off road riding. Marks potential cruiser or my converted Rudge roadster or Dr.S's 1930's clunker are what its about not just a roughly thrown together scruffy stumpjumper

I can see that I have a long way to go in the shonk training program and not sure I can complete the training

:? ...... getting together an unsiutable bike and then trying to make it do a job that neither it's designer or indeed any sane individual would consider, is a bit mental- I'm a pretty crappy rider on a bike made for the purpose- heaven help me on a 35 lb penny farthing :twisted:

would love to but the wife has just started talking to me again

will need plenty of notice so I can work my magic (if I can remember how that works again :? )

Lots of climbing at Keilder velo- remember to eat your spinach.

Si's still at Le-Mans I think... so I'll ask him when he gets back when he is allowed out

A 35lb penny farthing, wow thats lightweight, whats it made of , titanium and carbonfibre

Think 60lbs for one of those jobs, tubular iron and solid tyres with one brake if you go for the luxury model

Jimi, you need to get the bike together quick smart- I think the next meet should be a clunker/shonktastic get together.

Shouldn't be too hard, only stumbling block will be the wheels as they will need built, going to throw the frame together as is to see how it goes then strip it again to paint it.

Paint will go on then be scotchbrite padded to dull it down, then i'll just never clean it
