Re:

So when fitting the quadrant and shield to the fork, It is far too big to enable it to be clamped.
I have considered wrapping the fork in tape, Either handlebar /insulation but don't think this will be suitable and the danger of the canti coming free whilst cycling doesn't bear thinking about -

Re:

Finished -
The Resilion brake was a little bit tricky to set up but the brake is quite sharp, More power than I expected.

Modern fixings for the mudguard stays which look a bit out of place but tricky to find any period ones.

Also modern rear wheel nuts as one which came with the wheels was a wing nut, damaged and useless at securing the wheel.

Grips are modern Condor as I wanted the "look" of what I think would have been period style grips.

Also modern AFA toe clips which will do until I get something more period

Lovely work - great bike. What do you think to the Resilion brake? I was surprised how good they were when I took my Maclean out for its first ride last week. With regards to fitment issues - the rears on mine were packed out with rubber under the clamps. I've removed them as part of the cleanup and am yet to trial them without the rubber but I'm guessing they wont fit without.

Also glad you've noticed that there is a mixture of finishes on the different bits too - the backing plates on mine look like they were originally painted black with all the other bits plated. Thought that was a bit odd until I noticed you'd seen the same.

Thanks, Pleased with how it turned out.
I was surprised with the power of the front brake after fitting modern blocks. I had to wrap the front forks to get mine to fit properly.
It's fixed at the moment but I've the option of a freewheel and looking at putting together a rear brake, Bought two bags of bits recently with a view of finding rear brake parts to fit the rear stays.

Holy moly......you've got some spares then! I think I saw this job lot on eBay fairly recently?

Good luck finding something to fit the rears - I fitted the set that I plated for my tandem on the front of my MacLean and they fitted with no packing but the rear stays are so thin I reckon they will need packing.
