This country has created this situation and now it wants to villify those that through whatever misfortune fell out of the bottom.
This country created the spend now pay later culture and the need for things that in the past were not really needed, the tax payed on all those shiny things no doubt helped the country's economy.
What we are doing now is reaping the downfalls of the system created to make those at the top wealthy and for them to remain wealthy, there must be poor people to keep their system alive.
Sometimes I have the feeling that the wealthy would like to a return to the Victorian Mill workers mentality where the worker was kept on low wages but enough to keep them whilst the owners lived in the lap of luxury, no fear from unions now for they have been largely smashed.
But as a long term unemployed person myself I can understand the feelings in the country, and also understand the unemployed are being made scapegoat for ill conceived policies gone wrong, for has anyone noticed the media shift from villifying immigrants to villifying the unemployed. Of course this makes perfect sense for some sympathy can be formed for an assylum seeker of a foreign nationality, and to attack them could be seen as rascist, something the press wish to avoid, so to enable continued sales through sensationalism they have to attack some sector of society, the unemployed have no defence so a perfect target and they are actually aiding the government in their plans.
Now the government, the so called alliance what I am eeing is pure conservative idealism at work, for they have no clue whatsoever as to what the reality is for the unemployed, for none of them have ever been there, how many millionaires have they got in power, sixteen I heard, they are spouting words based upon sensationalist newspaper reports, they themselves have no idea but because of the media, the country is shifting towards their policies, someone to blame, someone to hate for there always must be a scapegoat.
That nasty little spineless turd Iain Duncan Smith saying recently that they were loads of jobs out there the unemployed refuse to take as usual has not got a clue and these people are runing our country. I did rather hope my man Cameron's gimp Nick Clegg might have tempered the conservative ideals, but it seems he has sold out to the power he thinks he has, so shit is happening and no one has the balls to stand in it's way because we are all being brainwashed.
This is the deal regarding the unemployed taking any of all those jobs out there. Unemployed people not only receive job seekers allowance, but they also receive housing benefit and various other benefits dependant on their situation, mental illness is very common with the poor as it always has been, so incapacity benefit and sometimes disability living allowance, but the latter is not dependant of whether a person has work or not.
So the fear is to take a job offered what will be lost, for certain some benefits will go and the situation arises where a person then becomes worse off than when they were unemployed as the jobs on offer rarely pay more than the national minimum wage and that is in my experience.
Factors which add to the mess include public transport costs and does public transport actually go to where the job is or start at a time so the person can get to work on time, the latter two around here are a problem and it costs a minimum of £3 to go anywhere. The other factor often missed is the cost of food, has anyone noticed that increase in price over the last couple of years, am not talking luxuries here, but the basic staples, bread, cheese etc. my own situation has forced me to become vegetarian as meat I cannot afford.
So, the situation is not so cut and dried as the media and government will have the population believe, but hey scapegoats are needed to blame for the inefficiencies and increase sales, it all comes down to money, those at the top keeping or making more of it, the self serving politicians and politically inclined media. What was it News of The World editor now working for Cameron, do you see what I mean.
Oh and BTW politically I was inclined towards tory for many years until I got in this mess and that is where I learned the true value of the society we have built, the result is I am now Libertarian, I believe in the good of people not money that can be made on their backs.
Oh and I have learned not to support the media in their attack of my personage.
