Frozen bacon. That's a new one. I only ever bought Arctic Rolls from Iceland.

Only ever went in there once, that would have been mid-80's (I think) so have no clue as to the number or nationality of people there

I take offence to what you describe as "ridiculous statements like that based on second hand anecdotes without any explanation" As I explained before MY WIFE GOES INTO THEIR HOUSES AND SEES THIS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME!!!!! IS THAT EXPLAINED CLEARLY ENOUGH FOR YOU?!?!?!

Or is it a case of 'because you can't do it, nobody can?' It happens, it's not nice, it's certainly not fair on honest unemployed people (like yourself?) but it happens! And quite a lot too!

I'm sorry if I've offended you, but you were presented with the facts and dismissed them out of hand!!!!

As explained, I don't know your wife and wouldn't/didn't question her honesty. I did though question the reality of the lifestyle you described being sustainable for "pretty much every family on benefits". If you choose to take offence at that I think you are being particularly oversensitive and might consider more carefully before joining in adult conversation.

Shouting the same thing over again does not clarify or constitute an explanation.

It isn't a case of "I can't do it so no one else can" it's a case of the maths not adding up. Perhaps the people your wife describes have some other source of income?

No need to apologise, you haven't offended me at all. Being considered part of an underclass deserving of nothing more than contempt and exile (if not worse) works wonders in toughening you up to face such lesser prejudice.
