Where Breezer Lightning frames not sub 4lbs?

I think so... :p

supposedly , the 96 catalog gives 3.9
or 1.79 kg for a 18.5

I am a silly idiot  as I did not weigh mine when I built it up to check if that was one more marketing exaggeration

all I know is that full bike weight for my build is about 10.5 kg so above the 9.9 of the catalog ( nearly identical save the rims and tyres and it does not make for the difference )

Most of the catalog weights are quite optimistic ;)

They sure are. Even today many manufacturers are VERY optimistic.

That Breezer is pretty light for a 18,5" frame!

All I know is that weight means nothing when you put a 14.5 stone clydesdale like me on one

That said, my C-16 seems very light to me. About as light as I can handle.

I am only 10 stones and a few pounds but same comment ;)

and much easier and cheaper to loose weight on the big chunk that the small one.

never understood the weightweenies ;)

My '96 Generation was 4.5lbs. with a seat clamp and headset cups. 'Sensible light' for a steel frame IMO.

For comparison (and a laugh  ), taken from the weight weenie listings :
