Also heard on the Today Program on Radio Four. Best of luck to him I say. Every now and then conditions, personality and DNA combine to produce an ATHLETE. Eddie M, Indurain, Pantani and on a more specialist front, a Boardman or a Hoy. I think Lance is someone like that. Maybe I am not seeing the whole picture, but it was mentione above the number of tests he was subject to.

he hasnt officially signed with any team yet .
Astana said yesterday they had no contacts , but I cant see him racing anywhere else .
what annoys me the most in all that is that if some people in france were not so stupid they would have used Lance image to promote tourism in america and the Alps and Pyrenees would be full of american cyclists spending all their dollars in french hotels , restaurants etc...

Personally, if Lance enters next years tdf, it could make it potentially very interesting to watch. People say he was too dull and unexciting to watch, but compared to Evans he was a showman.
Other side of me thinks that he has little to win and a lot to lose. Without a team built around him, and a lot of people wanting to prove they beat Lance, think it will be tough to win again.

I too think he has a lot to lose, but the tour will be better for his inclusion and if he does win it, then he will be sticking 2 fingers up to all the folks who have accused him of doping thru the years.

yep , I was just thinking purely from a business point of view .
as I said earlier he was missing too much panache to be liked in france .

Well, it's logical untill you consider that Contador is also on the rosta. Competing with a team mate for yellow would not be part of the Lance plan, so Contador would have to play second fiddle (which he wouldnt do) or leave. Why would Astana let him go seeing as he is their prize asset and at 25 he's got several years left in him, where as Lance is going for one more victory. Unless it's already a done deal and Contador is out the door after the Vuelta?
