Konas, lots of Konas.

Just been having a rummage around in the cave and this was hiding under a load of tyres, a 1992 Kona Explosif frame
I can remember getting it a few years ago and because of the dings,damage to the mech hanger and bottle cage boss I've obviously just put it to one side for a rainy day to fix and the cave has consumed it over the past few years lol

And saying i love my Konas especially the 89/90 bikes i couldn't be a die hard Kona collector without having the catalogues
I picked up the 90 one a few months ago and once i looked at it that just confirmed the idea i'd had in my head for a while about doing some tribute Konas, hence these ones.
Then two weeks ago the 1989 catalogue popped up on ebay and quick as a flash i'd hit the bin button, i had to have it lol
Which after finding that Explosif again has gave me an idea why not do the magnificent seven tribute bikes but with a twist and more than likely a big hole in my bank balance afterwards
So far i have two more willing Kona participants just need one more

Up until yesterday, I always thought there was the 88/89 catalogue, then the 90 catalogue, which are the two you've pictured (I'd love a 90 catalogue myself if any one has one for sale btw!), anyway back on point. I got chatting to a relatively new Kona convert from Germany who sent photos of his "1989 catalogue" which is different to both the 88 and 90 ones available digitally on here (and elsewhere on the internet)...

Interesting,first time i've seen that catalogue it's got the look of the 90 catalogue and you can see that there's the full range but they look to be in different colours, maybe it was a Europe only range and different to the UK one. It's hard to see properly though because when zooming in on the photo it just goes blurry.
Anyway to get better photos off them of it or maybe get them to upload it on the catalogue archive section.

How about a "reverse" splat?! Leave frame but do bars/stem/seatpost/rims!
