Don't confuse the asking price with price they actually fetch in the real world.

£20 to £100 is what they actually sold for on Ebay, but yes, you need the right buyer at the right time to get the best price. Now I know they are not rare and going to make me enough to buy that new £4k Trek I have my eye on, I'll just sell them with the bike.

I'd say that's more on the more bargain side these days. There're not as common as they used to be 10 years ago where you'd have a few come up every 2-3 months, found in lofts and such. TB always command a higher price as well, so £80-90 is a fairer representation, even more in tip-top condition or with an uncut steerer.

These much later versions are more that figure.

I based that estimate on looking fairly hard for a set a month or two back

there were about 5 or 6 on ebay at the time almost all of which were in the 60 to 80 quid range but not selling that quickly
an offer secured the one that fitted my frame properly for 60 - wasn't in the best condition paint wise
