another project! 1990 Marin Pine Mountain

Did some of the zolatone Marins come with rear u-brakes on the chainstays? If so which year was that?

Both 90 and 91 from memory although only in the small frames. My mate had a 15.5" 90 Palisades with a U bitd.

ugh so from the delight of getting the Muddy Fox frame back and then picking this up, disapointed.

it was a test for the powder coater about 500 yards away, now to be fair i think the paint is ok in terms of quality, for £100, but i asked for as near as you could get to the shade of grey on the frame as obvs Zolatone was never goinna happen, but i asked for floro orange fork etc, this was the "brightest we have", it's KTM orange, which is not flouro, together the orange really washes out the grey to be being off white, i can live with the frame but i think the forks need to go get done properly

the orange looks much brighter in this pic than it is in the metal.

i mean here's a comparison, the white stickers i got, bearing in mind it had white stickers on grey paint and they show up compare this pic on the "grey".

Interesting. Looks similar to a 1989 Pine Mountain. Described in the brochure as - Light grey frame. Neon orange bars, stem, forks, decals.

Orange decals would look better.

@AGT i think i'll get the fork re-done by my usual guy, maybe go for Black stickers instead of white

quite deflated by this to be honest.

Think the grey looks decent in the pictures and close to the original? Forks look a bit too carrot maybe?

@AGT did you edit your response, i don't recall seeing your post with that pic of the older model, to be fair that could work, i have already spoken to my usual powdercoater, he says he can re do the fork etc, so i think you may be right, do the stickers orange.
