Re:
So sorry for the delay guys, the past couple of months have been totally taken up with me fitting my new kitchen, that and getting a new job but that's a whole other story.
Progress has been slow as I made the decision not to go for a catalogue build, rather a mix of slightly esoteric stuff with a focus on steel rather than alloy and, as is my way with all my bikes, no shimano. So far I have sorted the following:
Wheel: Bullseye hubs on NOS Campagnolo Mirox rims
Mechs: NOS Suntour XC9010
Shifters:NOS First gen gripshift
Brakes: NOS IRD Switchbacks
Levers: NOS Dia-compe SS5
Bars: NOS Salsa steel
Cranks: Bullseye
Saddle: NOS Turbo
Headset: King No Logo
Post: Syncros, but may change for IRD
I am currently waiting on a set of forks - I have a set of straight steel ones as per the original or a nice set of first gen 531 RC30 but both are being sprayed as we speak (hopefully).
I was also lucky to find the perfect flex-stem to match the frame - a second generation 'Offroad' stem, the one prior to the Girvin, all facilitated by a cool German member.
Here's a quick photo, but it may be a little while for the next instalment as the forks are the bottle neck in this build:
Barney - if you want those forks, let me know. They are in cracking condition, like new. You will probably need a new elastomer and remember that they are first gen so will need shims to go to 1 1/8" £50 and a bit of postage should see you good
