Is there a car manufacturer that has made a decent MTB?

Seeing these made me wonder if a car manufacturer (why do they get involved with MTBs??) has ever been involved with a decent MTB?

Perhaps the Mercedes link to AMP research? But those Land Rovers, Porsche's, Jaguars (OK so it's not an MTB), Aston Martins and Hummers :roll:

That's not the Land Rover bike i remember seeing on TV once. The one i saw if i remember correctly was a folding bike.

At one point the Aston bikes were a D.O.G.S.B.O.L.X. with Aston paint - noticeably increased the frame weight.

The also "named" them DB for the obvious Aston connection, and slightly more genteel for the typical Aston buyer.

my farther inlaw has a raleigh ti in aston colours that was the raleigh sample for aston and i am sure they ended up as roberts dogs
