I'm not sure how detailed I can really be, but I'm 18.
When I last had a job it was an apprentiship and I had to give over half my wages too my mother aswell as my DLA, so she was getting over £500 a month from me. I lost that job due to being late too often because I was the one forced to stay in until he left for school which would be whenever he got up because he didn't listen to anyone telling him too. The other people in my house left for work earlier or just went out so I was stuck in because if I didn't stay in he'd steal things. So I lost my job because of that.
Since then I've been looking for another job allover but due to my grades in school I've been able to get none.
When I was in school I spent 3 years living with my granparents because my family moved away and decided not to let me go with them. My mother never gave either set of granparents a penny of the child tax credits she was claiming or my DLA money so that's about £6000 she kept for herself.
I do save what money I can but it's not a easy task as whatever cash I do have I usually have to use on other things. I know my DLA was supposed to have been changed into my account between 16 and 18 but it's not been changed and it's unlikely too be changed. My mother has told me that if it is changed then I'll be paying more than the amount I get for it in rent.
Yes I do like to have the best parts available on bikes and higher end frames, but that's because it's my choice too spend more money on them when I get it. Unfortunately I'm not getting any at all so I'm getting nowhere.
Also as another little insight into my mother, when my father died the company he worked for gave me his pension payments until I reached 18. That too all went too her and I didn't see any of it. Same with my granparents when I lived with them. That was about £160 a month so that's another pile of she got..
