I used to cut a piece plastic from a drinks bottle and attached to my bike with a clothes' peg, I though it was the best bit of the bike in the late 70's!We just did the basic version of standing on a coke can and wedging it in the brake / seat stays
Any issues with toe overlap quickly resolved.

Only found on recreational, cheapish-but-functional bikes from many brands, and especially on the "ladies' " market models
I never even understood how they were meant to help
To stop lawsuits from riders going over the bars from yanking on the front brake at the first junction they come to.
Could have just fitted canti’s instead.

It's the 3 finger version BL-T611 that Shimano state needs this modulator stuff.
No mention the modulator is needed with the BL-T610 2 finger version.
So it's all cleared up now and makes perfect sense for everyone that if you brake with three fingers you can't be trusted.
