Surely we have a total winner with that - can't be knocked off the No. 1 position ever !!!!

What a gem. What a gem.

So the outer rim can sort of maybe float about a bit on the inner rim via some expansive foam brick air gap / mastic insolation shit that will probably degrade with UV light and could never be trued up. Fcuking genius.

Does that mean you attach caliper brakes to the smaller rim or what? A bit like a 550mm rotor?

Lateral flex here we come baby. I wouldn't know where to put tyre levers on this lot.

Made my day this has. 👍 Only here and not on the GCN 👍

@MattiThundrrr - so in 1905 they understood that a complete round can not compress without a bulge forming elsewhere, and put the brake on the inner lower rim. Had there head screwed on for that 👍

Then later, even with known benefits of the pneumatic, dispense entirely with an outer rim, but still cobble together some braking system lower in what should be the more solid super-structure. 👍

The "Flexiwheel" above must be an ideal example of engineering vs a bicycle with no research at all; I mean I could loosen all spokes on a normal wheel by two turns surely and let it make it's own path in life?

Love this stuff. As they say, "nothing new in cycling".

A shit concept will remain a shit concept regardless of advances in material IMHO.

Ah remember these?
Only found on recreational, cheapish-but-functional bikes from many brands, and especially on the "ladies' " market models🤔

I never even understood how they were meant to help🙄
