Honest question - what's so great about Kleins?

years ago, the Klein was appealing to me but not anymore.

Did Klein make a 20" bike or anything larger? They all look tiny to me.

Take money out of the equation; if you could have any bike on the cheap, would it be a Klein?

I got my 93 Attitude on the cheap so yes I'd have a Klein not because I find it great to ride (I don't) but for me it represents an important piece of mountain biking history and that's important to me. Simple

Personally I find these threads a little tedious to read.

Choosing a mountain bike is a personal thing end of story. Sometimes it’s easy to see the historical significance of a particular brand/frame/component and hence why someone may be passionate about it and sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s about the ride and thus if you’ve never ridden one you’ll never really know.

For me Klein is all about the paint/oversized Al tubes/annoying special bearings/internal cable routing/firm ride/cheesy adds. You don’t get that combination with anything else.

A couple of years ago I took my Klein out to an Australian National series round just for fun and it was interesting seeing the reactions. Those below a certain age either took no notice or were confused, while others a certain age thought it was awesome to see it on the trails and would have given their left nut to own one. That’s the thing about Kleins though you either love them of you don’t and life goes on.

I'd just like to say thanks for all the great replies. It's taught me a lot about the brand. I genuinely think I'll take more of an interest in them when someone posts their Klein up now. It's nice to see people express their reasons for wanting one, and honestly critique them.

I dont think I'd ever want to buy one myself but if I ever got the chance I'd like a quick ride of one to see what they're like myself

BITD and probably still now I'd like an attitude in the team USA colours.
I've never ridden one though. After reading this it makes me one want one again. Even if it's just to make my own mind up on them. What do they go for out of interest?

I think they were just so different than what was around at the time and crap to ride or not, as a 15 year old mountain bike crazed teenager they were the stuff of dreams.

I think the team USA Attitude is one bike that I'm going to aim on getting hold of at some point, whether I actually ride it or not would be another matter!
