Exciting New Suspension Design Discovered

Having just discovered this advert on the back of a cycling book ( dating to around 1950 ) it is

hard to understand how this revolutionary design has been overlooked by the major bicycle

component manufacturers ? maybe the ' world patent applied for ' has discouraged them ?

I cant see how the brakes will ever work with the rims with this design

Probably!

There was a motorbike that had a sprung axle at the rear. Can't remember the name. Front might have been the same or with some sort of mono-sprung fork.
