Just bought last week. Going to be recovered in the right era. The frame (and parts) are from 1954. Eroba was a local brand in Echt, Limburg, The Netherlands. It now came with a Simplex L. Guy 543 rear derailleur, a front 'suicide' (strange name giving) Simplex Competition and a Stronglight right hand crank with again Simplex rings (52/4:cool:. Love to have and to be built again. The rear derailleur has two end cables and also braze-ons for that. One cable end for shifting and the other one for the chain tension.

Reaching down to operate the front changer is no more than using a down tube bottle. In 1955 I used the 543 with front changer and could change to the larger chainring with the inside of my leg. The key to operation is to have the front changer very loose, and reshape the cage by making it wider where the chain passes and narrower at the front.
