E-Stay advantages

There'll need to be an estay fatbike sub-forum at this rate...

Not a bad idea. When everyone is riding them we can say it all started here.

Thing is how fat do the tyres need to be to be considered fat ? I'd say 2.7 minimum.....

Thanks guys, I have had this Redline Fifty Five sitting around for almost five years and it never occurred to me to check for clearance. I only hung onto it because I knew it would not be worth the effort to pack it off to Ebay for chump change as there is no interest for E stays in the USA that I can see. I see you guys are interested in Fat tires , but in my mind 650B-27.5 is a much better application , at least for the desert here . This bike is a perfect candidate for conversion, it has room for a 27.5 X 2.3 at both ends, has a low 11.5in BB . 71 degree HA 1/1/8 HT. Oversized Tange double butted tubing.

Absolute minimum yes, I think 3.7" really...

But we'll need cutting and welding gear for that!
e-stay fat bikes? It's already been done, but I'd still like to see retro versions of fat bikes in original colors and decals (A-stars Cro-Mega, Nishiki Alien, Haro Extreme, Fisher HKEK or Montare, etc.).

I posted these in the "show us your elevated c/s bikes" thread (found here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0):

Roy,

Wow, I guess we're all posting simultaneously, so I didn't see your comment until after I posted.

Dang right I want a redline. Thanks for thinking of me.

Oh well if it's been done I don't want one ;)

They look bloody lovely, I should imagine the price is quite lovely too  I may have to contact the guy at 3D racing for a quote.
