Tough, youre getting it anyway.
Nah, i reckon you pressed a button at some point. Or someone did. It doesn't install itself. Not to mention all the hoops you've got to jump through and buttons you've got to press. It might have downloaded it, but not installed. You can just delete the download.
We've got 5 computers, all eligible and capable of W10. 2 of them it's really not worth it as they are ancient (very very early W7, or even XP era with a W7 upgrade) both of them are regularly used (and updated) and have not mysteriously migrated to W10. The other 2 are now running linux as the W10 upgrade encouraged me to have a play. It's not "unuseable crap!" it's just not plug and play, which windows is. Fixes to windows require (on the whole) virtually no IT knowledge. Linux regularly requires some tinkering and tweaking and possibly some manual changes to programs/registries and so on. They are both sat next to stereos and used as jukeboxes.
And FWIW none of the PCs i look after have updated, Well, except for one who accepted the update (against my advice!). And killed it. :facepalm:
You can also prevent most (all?) of the data sharing from W10, just need to have a play with the settings, but seeing as i'm not a terrorist and don't use my PC to stream copious quantities of porn, it doesn't actually bother me massively.
Oh, my W10 machine is now faster, runs cooler and uses the RAM more effectively and the OS disc is less full than it was running W7. All in, it's an improvement. (OS disc is 128GB SSD have another 120GB SSD in there for video processing and two 1TB drives for storage........ think the total memory in use is actually less than half a TB.
)
Think i might need to start moving some stuff about.......
