damaged frame - heavily corroded and cracked

Just been catching up, it is a shame that things turned so sour :(

Those higher end marins of that era used fairly thin walled steel...certainly that tube looks to have fatigued thorugh internal rusting so I wouldn't trust the rest of the frame personally, good for the bin and nothing more I reckon...

I bought an Orange Pretige many moons ago with a seat tube riddled with rust - like woodworm! Argos in Bristol replaced the tube and resprayed for me - good as new, but cost and arm and a leg! (It's ok, they've grown back now)

Seattube on my Dave Yates went that way and it cost me £170 plus shipping to have it replaced by Dave, including a full respray and replacement decals.

if it is not a high end frame , just have it repaired .

I have a stumpjumper with same issue . local frame builder just welded a cylinder round the tube for the grand price of £10 .

Obviously kadlec has had a bad experience with this seller :-( and I feel for him :-( but I have posted to add my positive experience and hopefully provide some hope that the above problems may get sorted out :D

I bought a NOS brake set but when it came (all perfectly packaged) it was three left arms and one right  I contacted the seller and we came to a agreement that (for a very good price) I would buy a second set that would consist of three right arms and one left so I would have two bike sets, one of which I could sell to recoup the extra outlay.

I paid my money (paypal gift) and thought all was well, then spotted this thread (and the other) and noticed the seller was on a ban - I thought that’s the last I would hear and no chance of a refund … :-(

Well today another perfectly packaged set of brakes turned up (posted on the 16th of December)

kadlec – If you are still in touch / have contact details for ditbicykles I hope you can get your problem sorted :D

WD :D
