guy on ebay selling a set of wheels, £110 buy now. my mate sent a best offer at £70. wheels end without selling and the seller offers them to my friend for £90, which he declines.

Few days later my mate spots them relisted 99p no reserve auction. he sends the seller a message offering £70 which is ignored (fair enough)

I spot the wheels also and lock and load the snipe account. win them at £41. seller ignores my requests for contact details but sends my mate a message offering them to him at £70!

seller sends me a request to cancel transaction (still not replied to my message) i decline it, tell him i want the wheels and give him 24 hours to get in touch, which he didnt so left him negative feedback.

Then i noticed them for sale again at a £100 buy now. (this is where it gets childish). I clicked the buy now and sent a message saying these are "MY" wheels and i will collect and give him the £41.

It felt good at the time but now I feel really childish

The fact is it wouldnt have bothered me as much if he sent a message to the tune of "really sorry to do this but I really cant afford to let the wheels go at that price. I know it isnt the done thing but i cant let you have them" instead of totally ignorimg me.

Wouldn't worry about it.
If he lists them at a starting price of 99p, in an auction, with no reserve, then he takes a chance on how much he'll sell them for.

Take the rough with the smooth on ebay. I sold two linkstation NAS boxes that I felt were worth about £60-£80 each. One made £37 the other £30, mainly because the ebay category suggestion was incorrect, I swallowed it and completed both transactions. Hopefully due a bit of Karma soon.

I had a similar experience with a pair of original Crossrides - auction ended at one in the morning with no Reserve, mine for £84 inc shipping...

Not a dickey, and eventual refund by Paypal - upside is I just bought a pair off 'Northern Dave' for less so swings and roundabouts eh? ;)

Can't see that you anything to feel bad about.

Same here, you are well within your rights through ebay. It must be dis heartening for him but it was his choice to list as auction style

To then mess you around, i think you should report him

I'd report him, simple as that. Especially as he could now report you for non-payment!

I can sympathise with him not getting what he wanted, but you gotta take the rough with the smooth on ebay. I recently sold a mint set of M730 hubbed wheels for peanuts, but then made the money i lost back plus more on some computer bits that i thought were worthless!

You have nothing to feel bad about, he listed them on auction and you won them the price doesn't even enter into it

I just wish people would put a reserve or a reasonable start price rather than 99p and get all shirty when you win the item for that :(

I am going through the mill at the moment for a pair of light I won at 99p+£3 p&p

It is stupid really :(
