Took it out for a spin at lunchtime. Tyres are ace, quieter than some road tyres I've had but really grippy and coped well in the mud. I definitely noticed the weight reduction on the wheels and front end too.
getting close.... change of crank, cage and pump.... I'm quite partial to the xt trekking pedals, used to be t780 I think but the latest version is probably something else. flat one side, clip in the other and are quite light considering
An upgrade of the crankset has saved another 200g and the bike is now under 25lbs. I'm happy with that. I don't think much more can be saved without spending silly money and I've already spent much more than I intended.
I stupidly weighed the lock ring tool as well so it's actually 30g lighter than this.
Annoyingly Hope Bottom Brackets require a different tool than Shimano so I can't ride it until I've purchased yet another bottom bracket tool. The cups are screwed in by hand currently.
That'll do nicely. This weight weenie stuff is addictive. I'll stop now.
Alas the seat clamp diameter I need is 33.1mm, and it seems that size is quite rare. I would like to add some more Orange goodness, I was thinking of the through axles and brake calipers when I upgrade those. That won't be for a while though.
