Brother Big Bro needs to go on a diet

Pedals! No one mentioned the pedals!

So off with the Shimano gr500 which weigh 522g and on with the CrankBrothers Stamp at 355g.

getting close.... change of crank, cage and pump.... I'm quite partial to the xt trekking pedals, used to be t780 I think but the latest version is probably something else. flat one side, clip in the other and are quite light considering

I'm trying a stem with higher rise and longer length. Jury is still out on the looks, but it's growing on me. Test ride at lunchtime.

An upgrade of the crankset has saved another 200g and the bike is now under 25lbs. I'm happy with that. I don't think much more can be saved without spending silly money and I've already spent much more than I intended.

I stupidly weighed the lock ring tool as well so it's actually 30g lighter than this.

Annoyingly Hope Bottom Brackets require a different tool than Shimano so I can't ride it until I've purchased yet another bottom bracket tool. The cups are screwed in by hand currently.

That'll do nicely. This weight weenie stuff is addictive. I'll stop now.

The Surly seat post collar on my KM was surprisingly lardy.... maybe an opportunity for another wee splash of orange for you!

Alas the seat clamp diameter I need is 33.1mm, and it seems that size is quite rare. I would like to add some more Orange goodness, I was thinking of the through axles and brake calipers when I upgrade those. That won't be for a while though.

Yeah same diam as the Stooge and Surly, a 33.0 (kcnc) or 33.3 (salsa liplock) would work no probs, but nothing available in orange I can find.

KCNC is only 15g.... pretty favourable compared to the Surly stainless steel which is around 40g
