Brazed 1" Stem - Syncros?

Had another look at this stem with a good friend the other night and got to thinking what it may be. This is on a bike that I bought from an early Syncros Factory employee. He told me the headset was a prototype but did not elaborate at all on the stem.

Thoughts?

Re:

That stem looks very similar to the stem `good friend'
posted a picture of from a Rod's man cave trip.
I'd say it's Syncros.
When can I have a look at it in person and other stuff? :)

excellent ! I suppose the question is... take it off and put it on a brazed Canadian bike or leave it on the American bike... not sure either option is a bad one

I am not sure there is too much that you would want to see at my place haha, you probably have multiples of everything I would have ;) ..That said it may be closer to late fall before I am actually consistently back in Vancouver - will keep you posted

I would say it's more likely a Rocky Mountain stem.
It looks very similar to mine...same noodle and same 2 bolt design up front.

I think the brazed ones are in house early rocky, but the tig were farmed out later to Syncros as some of their first stems. I have one as well that was modified by Paul Brodie and it had the remains of a syncros logo on it when I got it.

i read that the earliest Syncros stems offered was steel and had an expander, not a wedge design.
