boy"O"boy's 1991 Raleigh Dynatech Endeavour x2!!

Apologies if I’ve asked before - how do you find the bullet shifters in use? I struggled to set mine up and once set up erm meh!

If I'm being absolutely honest - they are terrible.
Pain in the @rse to set up. No consistency in shifting. I'd think with proper use, the action would seize up pretty quickly.....all the traits that marked the Endeavour down in the MBi review (on page one of the thread)
I'd only kept them on Endeavour #1 for Catalogue correctness.
Endeavour #2 has thumb shifters. Sav's example has replaced them out too.

When this thread started out, mine was the only known example. Great to see that this has become the place to Catalogue the known examples - 7 so far now!

Cheers

The ones on my Voyager had been swapped out for some XT brifters which somehow were working with Campag cassette. I could quickly see why after riding a short distance with the bullets. I changed them back to bullet shifters as it made the group complete and made me happy but don’t think I’d have them on a rider!

Hi all.
Here's some new pictures to add to the thread seeing as Endeavour #2 has now been entered into the January 2025 BOTM

The only change from it's last update are the addition of the correct Campagnolo pedals.

Maybe the quick release skewers would look better if they were changed to the grey rubber handled ones....but for now, the fully Campagnolo spec, albeit slightly different from Catalogue is complete. Only the headset is non - Campagnolo, but these Dynatechs were originally specced with the Tioga avenger 1 1/8"

The other update to this thread is the known number of Raleigh Dynatech Endeavours now standing at 8.
As this is the go to thread for this particular model, Bernard74's example above now belongs to @Mickael49 . His build thread is here -

https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/raleigh-endeavour-1991.487089/

Mickael's is a complete example with original catalogue spec and Campagnolo Electa saddle.
Interesting that the colour is slightly different to mine again....the rear triangle and head tube similar to my Endeavour #2 but with the tube colours of Endeavour #1

Maybe this reflects the custom nature of this particular model in that there is an inconsistency of colours.

Endeavour #1 has had the rear triangle and head tube repainted but this was colour matched. The main tubes are original paint.

Endeavour #2 was professionally colour matched before a complete bare metal respray. The forks retain the original decals that have been clear coated over.

The respray is accurate to it's original colours, so it's interesting seeing Mickael's example differs again. I did think that #2 could possibly be a prototype as the frame number is a slightly different format and still has a mudguard mount on the inner chain stay but has all the other custom features of the other Endeavours... But now seeing the inconsistency of colours, it's more likely that this is just an oddball one as they have unique custom features over the standard 2070 frame that was the Odyssey. The Voyager model used a 2060 tube set.

Stunning! Love the colours, and the Campagnolo group set really makes it unique.

Now that it’s complete, please do not recreate the swimming pool advert 😀

@JCS
Thanks. In the metal....those colours really pop. And the Campagnolo....if you ignore the rubbish bullet shifters, they did make a lovely group set.

No chance of recreating the ad....but they had a head start in getting it to sink to the bottom with it's 29lbs weight! I do wonder how many takes it actually took to achieve the pic? .....and if any of the survivors are actually the bike from the ad.

Cheers.
