Bikes that got you started in Mountain Biking.

My first Clockwork. My mate had an Alu O and I was riding an Activator!

Went into Leisure Lakes and saw the Orange collection.
Bought a blue and silver fade one with Suntour kit, as couldn't stretch to Shimano.
The weight and handling were an utter revelation!

Can still remember the smell of bike shops then - I've mentioned this before - but that just isn't there any more!

My love of Orange ever since is evident from my signature and the number I've owned and still own!

Muddy Fox Roadrunner, which I always thought was an odd name for a mountain bike, but I put it through some punishment before graduating to a Fisher Advance.

Moulton mini

Back on the late 60's early 70's we were a poor family, cardboard box poor.

My dad seeing my friends riding round on grifters, choppers and sprints knew I needed a bike but couldn't afford anything. Whilst going down the tip he saw a Moulton mini but it had snapped in half..He took it to work and had it welded and gave it to me as a birthday present a few weeks later

It may not have been as cool as the cool kids but then I had much more fun because it meant something to me and my dad

This made me realise it's not the bike that's under you that's important...but the fun you have riding it

Mountain bikes just followed as I started my own paper round and saved up and pier pressure made me drool through bike shops windows at night time
