Hello, its all started with a Raleigh Tomahawk somewhere in the mid 1970's.

Hi just though I'd introduce myself, well I'm heading towards sixty years old, far too many bikes have come and gone, it started with a Raleigh Tomahawk, (I was too short for a Chopper, did not stop me trying to ride one), the stand outs for me, my Grifter that I got for Christmas in 1978, the Thorns tandem I did Land's End to John O Groats on in 2015, the Schwinn Mesa Gs, (a class frame), in fact far too many bikes to mention. I started with mountain bikes in the late 1980's early 90's and then a decade ago got into riding 'vintage bmx. I have recently return to cycling after a two year layoff due to a bust knee. Did not want a new bike, always loved the feel of riding older bikes, anyway thats me and I have recently bought a Orange C16rs from a member on here, (Karl).

Oh and I forgot to mention, the other bike in my life is my Brompton, (don't get me started regarding how much I love my Brompton).

Nice bikes one and all - welcome to RetroBike!

What's the black Burner? Night Burner? 🤔?
Yeah, well spotted, a Night Burner , over recent years I have had a few Mk 1 and 2 Burners, but when your a a 60 year old bloke carrying a bit timber , riding them is not so easy, I was only riding them on retro bmx meets, (which I only got to two a year).

Hello, my first bike was also a Raleigh Tomahawk (I was too short for the Tomahawk), my father bolted two inch blocks of hardwood to each side of the peddles until I grew into it. Oh the 70's 'once I got brave and had enough stick from the local hood riders I got my dad to remove that wood :)
