And today I did......

Re:

I spent last night smashing the axles out of 2 Bulbs and tearing my hands to shreds in the process

I now have 1 hub with short axle and I hub with innards but an axle so goosed that I'm going to have to get the local CNC shop to make a replacement!

I even had one of the sealed bearing disintegrate on me leaving the inner race welded to the axle, thankfully managed to get it off by tapping it down and then heating / lightly champhering the edge and then levering it off....

I love Hope stuff but it needs to be serviced regularly!

If you have experience of bashing out outer surfaces of bearings ive a job for you  . Got one rusted into a bulb freehub. So far in and thanks to the bit that tapers where it sits, i cannot get anything in behind it :?
Freehub is ti
Any thoughts ?

I found Jims brake pads  so emergency over.

Might have to give this axle bashing thing a go myself very soon.

Today I went into Hellfrauds  , sorry, Halfords (yes Halfords!!), doing the Cycle-2-work thing and reserved a Boardman Team FS (which gets very good reviews), still, never thought I'd end up getting a bike from Halfords, but there you go...

Re:

Today I did a good 20 miles off/on road at a blistering pace, yes you did read that correctly.
In fact I 'smoked' a young guy on a MTB and the only think that stopped my from totally annihilating him was I thought "what the feck are you doin, tryin to have a heart attack" so I bottled out and let him catch up
What ever they did on Monday at the hospital has worked
I "think" what I am noticing today is my loss of fitness after being off the bike for 3 months more or less but I can work on that :)

Re:

Yer more than welcome tae join Keith and I on Saturday afternoon, we're going to do some trails at the back of Harran Hill wids at Lochore then some trails at foot of Benarty. 1 o'clock meet at carpark at west end of Lochore at foot of Harran Hill wids.

Re:

Was out doing a 15 mile loop today and got back to the house to be met by my sister on her bike, she says I was wondering if you fancy going out on the bikes. This doesn't happen often so I said yes, and thats me just back and clocked up 30 miles in total.

Feelin good :)

Re:

Keith and I had a great ride roond The Meedies followed by a climb over to, then up Benarty and an absolutely brilliant descent back down and over to Harran Hill for the descent there back to cars.

Need to have a MacRetro ride up there sometime. Before it gets wet.

Re:

Aye was fantastic the descent off benarty and Harran Hill is great.

Aaron if you're out next Sunday we can do it again, 10miles today with plenty of option to extend
