Rather you than me, never could get my head round doing that type of work on a car. Looking good anyway.
My wife's T25 camper failed it's MOT last Fri so I've started to do the work.
It needs 3 springs, both top ball-joints replaced and "exhaust is leaking excessively".
Managed to get set of springs on eBay for £70 including postage and there are also ball-joints on way too off the 'Bay. Found ball-joint rubbers there too, so will replace them on bottom ball-joints.
Any idea where I could get a cheap back-box, new or 2nd hand, for a '84 1.9lt water-cooled T25?

looks good jamie :D i've got happy memories of angle grinding, welding, sanding, rust treating, undersealing a 78 2.0 camper with my old man. never seen a smile on his face so big as when it came back from the painters sunburst yellow. a winter well spent.

just waiting on the final pieces, a chain and brake levers to drop through the door for my ss project, a few questions for the ss amongst you

chain line - wanted the chain ring on the outer side of the cranks (purely aesthetic), however this looks like the sprocket is going to be 1 0r 2 narrow spacers from the lock ring. should this matter? just asking as most of the ss i've seen seem to have the sprocket near the middle of the body...

gearing - what ratio are you using, trying to use what i've got, so 36x15 at mo??

concerned about the symmetry of the cranks, drive side appears to be 6-7mm further from the centre of the bb than the non drive. not sure if it'll matter, but nagging doubts due to having enough muscular and disc issues.. any thoughts?

Gmac - stop worrying and just do it. Main thing with ss is that the chain line is straight, not where it is. Think of where the chain lies when in the big ring /small sprocket. Normal ss ratio ( a bit of an oxymoron ) is 2:1 so 35x15 pretty high for off road. I run 34:18 but then I'm lazy. Experiment with staying in one gear on your geared bike no matter what and see what ratio works best for you. People will tell you to mtfu but the wrong ratio on ss is no fun.

singlespeed

Hi Gmac
Singlespeed gearing for me is 32 x 16
The sprocket location on the hub is immaterial really, as long as it lines up.
I have a few sprockets here buried somewhere. I will dig them out and see what I've got. That way you can try a couple of different ratios before buying something.
The van is as of tonight painted :D
I just have the side and rear door to get sanded for painting on Saturday when I can move the van out. Then its the bumper bars and towbar in black. Slowly getting there.

Today, ive found a restaurant that sells Kobe beef :D I think its about £20 for a burger  but what the hell eh? only live once

I had some in the states, but it was chargrilled and covered in a hot chilli soup so I couldn't really tell how much better kobe actually is as it could have been any kind of steak.

Is that Ketchup in Shawlands? They do one.

We have a ketchup here, it's pish and expensive. A couple of our local pubs do amazing homemade burgers - put them to shame.
