And today I did......

28 miles this morning, 2hr 16min. 6mins stoppage time for adjustments and junctions.
Left the water bottles at home so got a bit thirsty, and forgot to have breakfast.

Felt about another ten miles would have been my max at the speed I was doing - a lot of work to do.

To many layers got too hot at start but by the end my toes were freezing.

Bars were good but not perfect will make small adjustments before tomorrows ride.

only 3 months to go.

Well in TK, especially considering you had no water.

I wore my MTB overshoes plus sealskinz today, feet were still brassic by the time I got home, Christ knows what they would have been like without the overshoes.

PS. Ordered some red ano midges last night. Happy Valentines to me, happy valentines to me...

I think he covered a darn site more than me Mikee, but he must have stopped for that photo as all I saw was tarmac.

Wish it was this one.

TK - nah, not really - 36 miles, didn't do the Fife side, needed to get back and do some bloody work in the afternoon.

Quads are a-burning tonight though.

Mine are ok, knee doesn't feel great and the back has eased off now.

I'll be doing the same route in reverse tomorrow - which will mean a 2 mile 10% percent climb. I think I might prefer that to the 10 mile 2% I had to get to the downhill today though.

This is the climb http://g.co/maps/s4c2v 5 miles with a dip in the middle - 2 sections of 9.7 percent. I'm aiming to try and work out a nice plodding pace - ignoring the speed but finding a nice rhythm

28.5 miles today, again 12.8 average speed - this was a "strength" day so I used the big ring all the way round other than the 2 steep sections of the long climb. Max gradient 12.7%

Road biking is fine for a quick two wheeled fix, but really, getting muddy in the hills is the bawz.

One of the few remaining patches of Pentlands grass remaining

A quick couple of hours up the Pentlands, legs were fecked after yesterday's road extravaganza.

Hills are an absolute mud-bath. The walkers are grumpier than ever, obviously the mud is all my fault. Still a great day. And there was a lady on a Jones with truss forks.
